Something is in the air…
Maybe it’s the new year, maybe it’s a new budget year, maybe companies are trying to get people to come into the office in frigid temps? Or, more and more smart companies are realizing the long-term benefits of employee well-being programs.
I say this because I’ve received more corporate wellness inquiries this week than I did the entire 2nd half of 2024.
In the words of Martha Stewart, this is a good thing.
As someone who has an arm of their business delivering corporate classes and wellness programs to companies, I see the short and long term benefits that employee wellbeing programs bring.
In a study on the Future of Work, the NYTimes reported that employees who participate in corporate wellness programs report more job satisfaction and higher levels of happiness.
JMIR Publications reported that Employees enrolled in an 8-week Wellness Program saw a 19% reduction in daytime sleepiness and 24% reduction in anxiety.
Harvard researchers found that for every dollar spent on corporate wellness programs, employers save $3.27 on medical costs and $2.73 on absenteeism costs.
And not to mention, employees feel a sense of pride and loyalty towards companies that value their entire wellbeing, not just their work output.
As someone who left the corporate grind to work in fitness full-time, one of the most rewarding parts of my work is being a small part of reducing stress in the corporate world.
